13. Rally Show Santa Doenica 2023

It was a cold and frosty morning but I was heated and couldn’t wait for the rally to start. This also would be the first time i got to use my new Nikkon D3100 camera with a AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55 mm lens.
I think the pictures came out nice especially for the first time.
We got lost on our way to the stage as it was our first time at this event. But fortunately i spotted a competitor we followed to the service park, and we arrived there in just mere 15 minutes before the start and i managed to snap a few pictures.
I was really hoping to see this Lada in action but unfortunately it never started. Maybe there was a problem with the car, i never found out why?
Anyway the rally started with The ever famous piaggo that never fails to amuse.
After the piaggo came the buggies and jeeps.
And than the rally cars started lining up to the stage start.
After the first run we changed the loacation to view the cars in action. We positioned ourselfs on a long, fast right-hander.
My brother took the camera an I must say he really has a good eye.
And than the crash occured. I didn't see it personally but I was told (by my brother and father) that the driver failed to slow down
in time for the tight right turn that comes right after the fast right-hander and he ended up in the ditch. Here is a car after the crashed one
coming through the bend and going passed the crashed car.
Than we stayed a bit more at the same location and soon after changed several. Here is the rest of the pictures from various locations.
The day was coming to an end and the sun begun to set. We have been here sience morning and we were beggining to feel tired and started to freeze.
We decided to call it quits. It was a great day, the stage is repetead 4 times so there is plently of action on display. I would certainly recommend any petrolhead
to attend this rally show. I will certainly be back. Rally on!
